COMMUNITY GAMES: The AGM will take place Thursday 8th in the community centre .It is important that-new members and parents of young children attend to ensure the games continue in our area. In recent years girls and boys have done our parish and county proud with their achievements in many activities provided by the organisation. Volunteers are needed. BASIC COMPUTER COURSES are starting in the Internet cafe in Ballyheigue. Course suitable for complete begin- . ners, starting with turning computer on and off. Day and evening courses available `Duration 6 weeks. Class length 2 hours. Cost E75 with discount for unemployed, lone parents and active retired. DEATH: The death took` place during the week of Tom Gaynor, Tiduff. He is survived by his sisters, nephews, nieces and relatives. Burial Friday in St. James Cemetery.

EDDIE HAYES TOURNAMENT: U1 2 hurlers took part in the Eddie Hayes ground hurling tournament at Dromakee Saturday. In round 1 they defeated St. Brendan on a score of -. Ballyheigue 2-1, St. Brendans 0-1. In round 2 they had a victory over Dr. Crokes on a score of 5-2 to 1-1. They came up against the home team Crotta in the semi final and after a titanic battle Crotta boys came out on top on a score of 1-0 to 0-1, Many thanks to Sonny Egan and Crotta club for inviting U12 hurlers for the first time to take part in this very well run and successful tournament and also well done to the Crotta ladies committee who provided

PLOUGHING: All Ireland 3 ploughing. medal has ne to Ballyheigue. igratulations to Derek on his great win. A big welcome home Friday night with a parade through the village led by Ceann Duimhche Band

LOTTO: 2, 4, 14 & 21 were drawn last Saturday night in the GAA lotto. The jackpot of E3300 was not won. E50 was won by Patrick - Hobbins, Buncurrig and Kitty Brennan, Tiershanahan Cross. E25 to Rita Stack, Glenderry.

GAA U12: Ballyheigue U12 hurlers had a good win over Abbeydorney in the county
championship quarterfinal Sunday evening. Team: Mark Mulvihill, Shane O'Halloran, Kieran O'Halloran, Sean Thornton, David Kissane, Arran Casey, Frazer Irvine, Michael Leane, Jack Healy, Chriss Heffernan, Gerry O'Halloran, Rory McNamara, Thomas Stritch, Brian Riordan, Conor Galway. Sub used: Kieran Regan.

CAUSEWAY LADIES FOOTBALL: Training for juniors continues Monday and Friday, 7.30 to 9 p.m. in Ballyheigue pitch. Training U10, 012 and 014 takes place in Causeway, Maurice Leahy's field, Sandford Monday evenings 6-7 p.m. and Sunday mornings 11.30-12.30. FUNDRAISING: We recently participated in a county board fund raising initiative i.e. sold tickets for-2 All Ireland tickets. Winner was Nicole Culloty, Glentltesk. Our club made E954, E636 was returned to the county board and the club kept E318. Thanks to all ticket sellers and those who supported the draw.

ICA: Having enjoyed the summer break, the Guild will resume activities on Monday, October 5 in the Family Resource Centre at 8pm. New members welcome.

Childrens activities:
HIP HOP dance workshop: every Thursday as of October 1st at the Ballyheigue Community Centre 5-8 year olds 4-5pm, 9-12 year olds 5-6pm. Accreditted dance tutor. 3 euros per session. Everyone welcome!
Indoor soccer: FUTSOL every Friday at the
Ballyheigue Community Centre 5-8 year olds 3.45pm to 4.45pm, 9-12 year olds 4.45pm to
5.45pm. 3 euros per session. Everyone welcome!
Basketball: Every Wednesday at the
Community Centre 4.30 - 5.30pm. 3 euors per session.
All children attending the Afterschool club attend sessional activities for free, after school club 5 euro, per week for band A&B, 12 euro per week band C, 26 euro per week for band D.

Maintenance and minor, repair service to the homes of people over 55. North Kerry Older Persons

Ballyheigue FAS Jobs Club: 3 week course for jobs seeking skills programme, a very useful resource if you are trying to re-enter the workforce and need to update your skills and job seeking abilities. Contact Laura on 0667116961.

GIVE IT A SWIRL DAY: Wednesday 30th September, 12.30 pm to 2pm at Kerryhead/Ballyheigue Family resource Centre, tea, sandwiches and cake! Come down for a chat about how you can get involved in your local community and give volunteering ago, you can donate as much time as you feel you can, no pressure but all help is welcomed!
